I have to write this book and practice test on my skills with the use of the enclosed CD in this book. I passed the exam on the first attempt – but that does not mean it was easy to do. I spent five weeks after I completed a six-month training course in Medical Coding in a local community college. I felt that I did not get the proper testing skills or information to pass the test from the class instructor, while the main course so decided to write out of the classroom version of the CPC exam. After researching many book reviews on various CPC Exam books, reading certified by these bodies through the AAPC and asked a lot of questions to those who had done the test – I chose this book to be used by Buck, to apply for the examination of practice . I mainly do the CD and not all the reading in the book. I scheduled time to the tests in a simulated environment (take home) as if I were under the actual CPC exam – the practice tests is time, as if you would require under the real test. Make sure written using current CPT manuals as guidelines for the test (or at least the updates in your book). Also, make sure that your books are tabbed to make reference quicker access (but not overtab). TIME is the key factor in completing the test! Practice, practice, and practice is no longer before the real thing. Once all the practice tests on the CD Buck – it will print out the ones you missed and write the questions. Then you can see and try to understand the logic behind the test-designers to get around – and I found the same kind of logic was on the real test. You MUST be the time in the practice tests and review your missing! I also found that writing with a pencil in the CPT book, the info that I am comfortable in less (definitions, etc.) was helping me with things like anatomy, etc. Check the CPT and ICD books also, and very comfortable where to find the answers quickly. But most of all the practice tests from the Buck-CD, is what brought me to hand over the edge. . . GOOD LUCK!

This book is great! I mainly use only the CD for the test questions (you get three tests and each test is 150 questions, and it lets you know where you as time is of crucial importance for the test). It pretty much mimics the CPC test for certification. I practiced the CD for two months, and if the test came, I was nervous, but passed! If I for my next certification, I definitely would at first glance to see if Carol Buck has set a study guide for him.

This book is exactly what I was looking in my study at the school. It was very easy to find via the search option. So far, this book is also easy to use and does the same with my class. Thank you.

This study guide is how other Carol Buck textbooks, very comprehensive. It has several practice tests, three, and an electronic paper version. This text is only relevant if the person had studied some training or experience in Medical Billing and Coding. I am a MBC instructor and I would this text to recommend to my students.
