Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition & the Ultimate Embrace of Curves
Description:
An inspiring & cautionary tale for women of all age groups, hungry is an uplifting memoir with a universal message about body image, beauty & confidence.

I went through this book at borders, and immediately felt drawn. I picked it up, sat on the floor and did not move until I finished the whole thing. This young lady has so much wisdom. It was so amazing for her trip to the ever-confident, assertive woman who read them now. I am willing that anyone out there has at one time or another bet, tried to ram their place self-bound in a round hole. . . and it is encouraging, so overwhelming, the story of someone who came out the other end, to read live their dreams. What could be more inspiring? I mean, who did not say, “Oh, if I work hard enough, then I am well enough”? Crystal shows that we are good enough as we are. . and if we recognize that to embrace them and pass begins to Magic. I think this is the message of this book. I felt like I was on air, after I left the bookstore. On my way home, I went and bought me a bunch of nice flowers

The story of a rise and fall and rise of a 22-year-old American model would have such lame in so many ways. I mean, what has anyone this young have to say? A lot, actually. Hungry is fascinating and clever and funny and thoughtful and provocative and also, I felt like I was always a far truer insight into the fashion industry, as I shall ever FARE like America’s Top Model, The Devil Prada and get even Project Runway. It was not always have such a view, either. The deep-rooted prejudices (ahem, hatred) of not only large, but normal-sized bodies was pretty cool, and reading this book, it is difficult to say whether the bias from fashion mainstream culture or flows back, or whether it Twisted is an anorexic cycle. But, there is a book with a happy ending. Cream rises to the top. Well, it turns out, is beauty. When Crystal decided to celebrate this revolutionary act, and eat lunch (a healthy lunch, a salad with fish!) And let your body grow to its natural size, her body in bloom, and start their career. You will cheer, the kind I am funny, intelligent self-conscious because of their amazing (previously read) career and life.

Wow. I could not put down. I have never tried to be a model but had a serious eating disorder when I was in high school (30 years ago!), Racing and all the books she brought back to me. It is very well written and moves at a good clip, with little padding. I would have given it four in fact. 5 stars if I could, because two things: 1) It could have been more pictures. Crystal talks at length about many shoots for Vogue, etc., without any photo, and I lie dying to know how they looked. (Perhaps it was a copyright problem?)
2) their new self-esteem is sometimes a little over-the-top near the end (“I’m so sexy, I’m so hot,” etc.).
But overall I really recommend. You do not really slam the fashion industry as hard as I thought it would – in fact, she admits that sometimes people told her she was too thin – and they blames herself for most of almost starved to death.
I saw her on one of the morning TV shows and she came across as smart and gorgeous. Way to go, Crystal!

I think some people are not the decisive point of the book. The book is not to say that it be “OK”, obese, and it is not the approval of weight gain. The message is to feel comfortable with who you are / who you should be. She tried was to make himself something of starving themselves. Once she realized she had to kill himself, emotionally and physically, she turned her life around and up to a point where it was felt, comfortable and happy. Crystal is a 12/14, which is average in America, yes. And sure, if they gained weight and became a size 16 she would still not be obese, but she is not say that she is suffering from obesity, nor is it claimed it would if it were to gain a little more weight . The moral of this story is, women show that beauty radiates to love yourself and around you to love yourself, you must feel comfortable and confident. For women, starting with your body.
I love this book 110%!

The beautiful Crystal Renn, one of the most successful plus-size models working today, has forged a new path in their own “niche” of modeling, presents a picture that does not mean that you think about your mother, your sister, or the sweet (read: asexual) girl next door.
However, their earlier effort in the modeling industry (such as getting what she refers to as “straight-sized” model) was not only characterized by a lack of professional success, but by an instance of self-induced vomiting, starvation and obsessive exercize.
This is her story of how she overcame her life and disorder, in the process, successful in their field and happiness in her personal life.
While making it clear that they continue to uphold healthy eating and exercise, cited statistics it, as the BMI (Body Mass Index) numbers over the years have been manipulated to more people – also show itself and some other added plus-size models – in the category “overweight” or “obese”. It also makes the case that we be any genetically predisposed to a certain size and body type, and if we try to an unnaturally low weight (unnatural for our particular kind of force, that is), we begin to desire more food (especially the greasy, unhealthy variety) and feel sluggish (too tired to work!)
In her chapter on the rediscovery and recovery of their sexuality, meeting married and her husband, They cited statistics on women who struggle with some type of dysfunction, which is actually rooted in their attitude towards her own body and makes the case for a connection between physical activity and an overall positive self-image regardless of its natural shape or size. < br />
The point she was beaten repeatedly that home with me, however, was that food and eating should be the most pleasureable aspects of our lives – not something that we owned and tormenting on a daily basis. She told how she was embarrassed to eat in front of other people, but now her husband is watching her eat!
Overall, I recommend this Buch.später about “one with the original style fat girl “, is priceless.
Cheers.
