All parents should use this book for their children when they ask, to begin the delicate questions. It's So Amazing! cover topics from the maturation, reproduction, homosexuality and sexually transmitted diseases in a non-judgmental, factual way. The bird and the bee, which is part of the learning audience help children to feel comfortable covered with their own reactions to the material, and the bird excited and anxious to learn more, while the bee is anxious and not very comfortable with it all. The illustrations are humorous, help to facilitate such serious issues, but without diminishing the importance of the whole.
All topics may not be most appropriate for 7 year olds. However, chapters are arranged by the most fundamental issues start and progress on issues that are more sensitive. If the book with parents and child to read together, new chapters as the child is ready to learn and understand, be introduced. It is also an excellent choice for a child to read alone.
After the experience of learning sex education from the dry, available clinical books that I grew up traumitized when I do I am very glad to know that my son will experience so different than my own!Rating: 5.5

A few months ago, my husband asked if I would have a conversation with our two girls about growing up and the birds and bees. When the stepmother (almost seven years), we are very close, but I was a little nervous about approaching the subject. To my relief, an employee of the aforementioned "It's so amazing," book and then felt compelled to lend me the copy for a few weeks so I could read with my 9-year-old. She had strongly recommended to use with their two sons, pre-teens.
The possibility of the experience of reading and talking about this issue with Maddie (our 9-year-old share) was actually. . . a great experience and now one of my favorite memories. We had quality time together and opens up a whole new level of communication based on trust and open communication. I must admit, I would some assumptions about what they may have learned from friends and school, but they knew less than I thought, and I think the timing was great because they are very curious and begins to ask questions like, "where babies come from really?" and "What are (tampons) for" used?
I used the book as a tool for our discussions after Maddie interests and curiosities. Together we read a few chapters, and a few others skipped (so far), goes into their pace. In our first meeting, she wanted to go on for almost an hour!
finally the book to my colleagues, am about to journey to buying our own copy because I enjoy Maddie and her sister among them, through their knowledge against teen (and teen) years (I know I will) .Rating: 5.5

I bought this book for several reasons. I am 23 years old, but found the circumstances I dive into the world of foster parenting. I needed a book could help to me, my foster son talk about all the complex issues he faced at a young age of seven. I bought this book because I work with an HIV / STD prevention youth program. I wanted a resource that the young person was friendly and could be equally used by both children and adolescents. Then I stumbled across this book here at Amazon

I will say this book is a wonderful job of explaining things, such as gender, sexuality, alternative families , sexual abuse, etc. in a way that young people enjoy and understand. It takes an open attitude. The only thing I say is that if you are thinking is usually very conservative, then you have a problem with some of the things in this book. However, I believe it takes an honest and loving approach to life, love and sexuality.

What makes this book so cool is that by reading certain sections with younger children that apply to them or start their age group. As they get older you can start to read some of the other sections and eventually leave the book in her room to refer to if necessary. Buy it! It is worth the money.Rating: 5.5
