Interesting book but much, much too much science in it for the average person (BTW – I have a master’s degree and a former college roommate is now a registered dietitian so I’ve been around books and conversations and still have this difficult to follow).
So, it is far too extreme for the average person. For example, we can not all afford 100 percent organic whole time, we can completely avoid the plastic wrapping and carrying appropriate container. In addition, the book contradicts itself in a lot of places. I suspect the editor was MIA when it comes to cross referencing came.
The essence of this book is to stop eating all the wrong food that we currently use in our systems and you lose weight. Since reading this book, I’ve significantly reduce processed foods loaded with chemicals (yes, that is, the Activia yogurt, low-calorie pudding and Jello, cool whip, and other so-called low-calorie snacks that actually make you gain weight). I have a lot of staple foods with organic and have replaced a large difference seen in my weight and disposition.
For the person who is ruining the smarter way, “the man” we eat is and get away with money cheap, processed wants food, the core elements of this book could have been better addressed in an article in 500-750 along, the lines of the “Top 10 Ways to Lose real weight and keep it off.” Here are a few important tips from the Paper Save yourself the time and expense of reading:

Seeing progress again FINALLY! Was not sure this book or not, but the points seemed my situation to a ‘T’, so I gave it a shot to acquire fit.
I am not an organic person and never worked before avoided. So this is all a big leap for me.
Let me first summarize my situation: Lost 50 pounds in the last two years and still need another £ 50 drops. I was eating 1200-1400 calories per day and working conditions of the daily 45 minutes cardio / weights. I did everything right and everything went in my mouth went into my food journal. There was no fraud and no excuses. According to my calorie intake and calorie I was 2 pounds fell one weeks consistantly. And every week, if I have in the balance but it was about two pounds and not move! Total frustrated and wanted to scream!
Then I see this new Jillian Michaels MASTER your metabolism and the point of the scale is not moving, no matter how well you ate and how hard you worked. Hey, what I have to lose?
So was 10 days on your program and stick it faithfully and the weight just bells! Down 8 pounds in 10 days, as my body has finally said “OK … time to let it go”. I’ve changed my workouts, they are still constant. I am after the main guidelines for food and I’m consuming way more volume in the food and the calories I have to stick to the 1200 to 1400. I feel soo full, never requested any junk. And I think I will be no way to lose weight, because I am soo bloated but feel in the morning. . . . The scale shows a drop

Let me first say that in recent years I have always drawn on staple foods (without all the packaging, etc.) and have loved it were. My favorite breakfast is a hot oat cereals, millet, quinoa and other grains produced. My husband makes the bread in our house. We have increased our fruit and vegetables. However, I think that many people take “organic” too far for our family.
Jillian begins with their experiences from their childhood and their links to food and then travels with her youth, where they started to get fit and healthy. Yet everything was a struggle for them. Then she found her hormones were out of balance.
Jillian talks about a number of different hormones, what they do and how to your body – weightwise and other opportunities. It helps the hormones that will identify your problems.
Once they do that through the three steps of its program, the more of all foods with additives of various kinds ( it tells you exactly what you are looking for is also going on) and then gives you ideas of organic food should look. It is not only food, if – she talks about other things in your house that can cause problems such as cosmetics and plastics.
I love how much information was in the book and that It was easy to understand. It has listed a ton of resources in the back.
If you more about how hormones affect your weight this book (I may perhaps want to know, but wish that it more to type 1 diabetic spoke directly, as I have had a number of questions for me). If you are ready to go organic may be the book for you. If you are not willing to go organic or you will anyway some good information. If “organic” be offended no end I would like to pass on the book.
Personally, I will be able to use some of the information is not to go but to the extreme, she suggests.

I have read many books on physiology, written precisely hormones and metabolism of people with board-certified medical degrees. This book explains almost all of what the other, plus more recent research, a lot easier to read format with helpful diagrams and references. I was very surprised, a book of this quality could come from a non-qualified personal trainer. I have a new respect for Jillian Michaels for disclosure of medical facts researched-based (many pages of peer-review medical articles in the back, if you check the sources) and dispel myths such as the work on an empty stomach to, and the problems with soy and other substances that interact with hormones. Your own history is very interesting and there is a very thorough section discusses hormones and interconnection of roles in our health. I have already started cleaning out my fridge and cupboards.

I’ve got an endocrinologist for about six months and much of what I have a lot of money is paid in this book. When I took his suggestions, I have to also see the following changes: my cholesterol went down 80 points, my use of antihistamine was three months of the year two weeks, I have the amount of antidepressants I take every day reduced my load has increased, my sweet tooth has almost disappeared (that alone is remarkable) and I very rarely need my asthma inhaler. I do not buy organic everything – but generally the food I eat the most, I do. I am in my mid-50s, so I’m looking for the quality of life, rather than a “hot spot” (this is a secondary goal), but my mood and mental actuity swear I have so much to the Clock would be improved , turned back 25 years. This book is much cheaper than my adviser – have you read it slowly and take the suggestions and improvements you find in your daily life to see.
