How many errors could be reduced if more nurses looked at their medications? However, since most units are medbooks is only in the medroom medbook and too bulky to carry in most instances, the sad fact that there are prescription drugs is not seen. My first PDA was Mosby’s Drug Guide, which I more than a year, I have now had their own Davis’. I can not tell you how many nurses have asked me to quickly look up times to review their medications, seen on dosages, adverse reactions, or breast-feeding considerations. More than once the drugs have taken place or orders in question as a result but I had not been in the room that would have probably given med. How delightful it is to try a whole book med available electronically in your pocket, searchable both generic and brand names (no more scrolling through indexes to find the generic name), always accessible.

So, now are convinced of the necessity of holding a PDA Drug Guide, but what should you buy it. Like I said, I have Mosby’s Drug Guide for over a year in property and have only recently purchased Davis. I have Davis’s Drug Guide will be found more thoroughly. Davis is also easier to navigate. Both Davis and Mosby have drop-down menus to quickly reach the desired section of the med-entry (ie mode of action, side effects / side effects, tolerability, cosmetic considerations jump client education, etc.), but since Davis has the content is divided into several subsections, is it faster to navigate to the desired content. So my personal choice Davis, but I do not think you would be bad for the purchase of these two. I encourage you, just from the hard-copy move med-book and the PDA version.

You may also like to know that you have many other useful resources such as laboratory leaders value ( in Medical-Surgical Nursing Clinical Companion, ISBN 0323031994 including integration), medical dictionary (Taber’s Like, ISBN 080361408X), and much more. I hope that more nurses around with all the reference libraries in their pockets, leading to a better practice, better patient outcomes and fewer errors.

I saw a 2007 version of Mosby’s Drug Consult and liked it, so I bought this 2005 version, because only a few cents, and know what I thought was nice. It turns out that the 2005 version is not white but yellow, and the lay-out is not quite the same either. Buy an up-to-date version of this book.
