I checked this book from the library and want to buying it. So far we have tried the Mac & Cheese (w / onion and garlic puree), Spaghetti Carbonara, Brownies Deep Dish Pizza, Nachos, &. . . all pretty much exactly as written, and everything in 3 days. The first three were amazing! The nachos were okay, but I could not follow the recipe exactly because of our not the black bean dip (subbed drained and rinsed black beans and green chili peppers). . . If we would just follow I’m sure it would have been nice, as our version was “something missing”. I am looking forward to trying the Indian Curry Beef and French onion soup soon. I love Greek yogurt in that it contains many of his recipes. . . such a wonderful healthy ingredient with a great texture, especially Fage brand.

I like this book would be fourth 5 stars if I could, but the points system would not allow it. The reason is that there is an incredible amount of artificial sweeteners in this book. I understand that he is trying to keep the recipes “calories and fat grams under certain height, but can I have a hard time believing that he, as one of the world reknowned chef and serious athlete would Splenda & sugar-free chocolate syrup, etc be a normal part of the diet. I had really hoped that he would have taken more of the “whole food, not artificial”-type recipes, like those that he had on the Biggest Loser. For example, had the brownies, which are said to be the “star of the book” after an interview that I read, an end to a “chemical”. I wanted to try the chocolate biscuits, but have not yet managed to find the chocolate NRP in the recipe, so I decided to the more accessible Brownies. Please note) that I have to make whole-bean brownies black beans and white chocolate cookies (LOVE this!) for years, including a bean brownie that 79 cal / piece (8×8 pan, 16 pieces, so I am very familiar with and accepting of the taste and texture differences between these and the “real things”. I only wish that the desserts more “whole foods” and less “fake” ingredients were. It is reachable. I give not my children artificial sweeteners, so that most of these desserts off-limits to them.

would be all that is said, I loved the other recipes and am trying to tell me more. I LOVE the variety of classic dishes from around the world. We thank you for this book, Rocco.

Purchased at retail bookshop for a lot more than I would pay on Amazon. . . Boo-hoo for me. Regardless of my first good impressions have gradually sour. . . or more went to the heart, bitter.

all my family dinner this week (and a dessert) from this book.

have ; I’ve been a good choice by cooking the chicken & dumplings Sunday – it was actually quite good.

Monday Chicken Burritos. . . ok, but when I do it again, I will lowfat sour cream substitute for the Greek yogurt.

Tuesday was fettuccine Alfredo – the yogurt was the question again, they overpowered the dish – I think I could with a better recipe with skim milk and low fat parm.

Wednesday (last night, St. Patrick’s Day 2010) was shepherds pie – YUCK! only for a few more calories, real potatoes instead of cauliflower would have made a world of difference. The additional CAL’s would be offset from potatoes called with a fat-free sauce instead of chicken broth-based sauce in the recipe. Anyone who thinks, feels, cauliflower in a food processor any kind of substitute for mashed potatoes must be entirely without taste buds. . . I still say YUCK?

So the follow-up of this terrible St. Patty’s Day Irish non-treat (shepherds pie, an Irish stew), I made brownies. The brownies are terrible – simply awful – the picture on the side Brownie is no way, no how the brownies from the recipe. They were bitter, give the espresso powder overpowered the chocolate and the black beans are a very strange texture, which was not at all pleasing.

Tonight (Thursday) his Sloppy Joes, but remember it – chalk this book as a $ 20 loss and moved on with my life. Do yourself a favor if you think this is a cookbook for you: at the circulation desk of a friend, they borrow from the library or find another way to try some of these recipes for free before you waste your money.

I spent about an hour checking Now Eat This! 150 of America’s Favorite Comfort Foods, all under 350 calories, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito. As a former chef and avid cook, cooking is my passion, healthy and tasty meals. So it was with interest that I read this book, I like to see how Rocco wanted to taste – not calories – brought to America’s favorite comfort foods.

The trick to cooking flavorful, healthy and low calorie foods used – no surprise – spicy, health and low calorie ingredients, and understanding how to combine them to a court to make that’s enough. With such ingredients, such as those achieved Rocco. He uses aromatic herbs and spices that are packed with flavor, for example. Another great substitute for butter that Rocco used sour cream or Greek yogurt cream – Yum! If you are not Greek yoghurt have tried, you are in for a treat. I swap all the time in courts and not miss.

Rocco was inspired this book, after having a guest chef on The Biggest Loser. He was asked to turn traditional comfort food – loaded with fat and calories – in low-calorie, tasty and healthy dishes.

The book itself is a feast for the eyes – bright, beautiful colors and many sexy photos of the courts.

To the calories to a minimum, used, Rocco cooking spray. Cooking spray is great for faux meat and in some other cases, but I would use a little extra virgin olive oil in some of the other recipes. Olive oil is a “good fats” and is good for you. Sure, it adds calories, but it also adds flavor and gives the diner a feeling of satiety and satisfaction. (I can not help but believe that some of these courts as light in calories, that it would hunger to be an hour or so later and later a possible unhealthy binge! For example, calls his macaroni cheese recipe for ann 4 ounces of pasta 4 servings, I do not know any pasta lover, 1 oz could eat pasta and satisfied his …)< br />
That said, the recipes are great if you are trying to lose weight! Instead of the same old boring diet courts could, in this book, please keep on the right path because of the variety in the kitchen.

If you just want healthy and tasty meals, is This cookbook still in order. You can always eat a larger portion or add some olive oil! :)

Overall I like this cookbook and have determined very soon to try different recipes.

I must be honest and say I’m not a cook. I’m on my takeout menus dedicated. There is a reason why I can laminate and keep it in a folder. I tried to eat to lose weight. I ate low fat, no taste food and it has hit me only miserable feeling and desire, meat dishes and sweet desserts.

My doctor that I am healthy (translation obtained: lose weight, or your heart, kidneys and other organs will rely on you.) He compared my body to a toxic waste dump, and said that the only thing that would help me a return to the food was real food, I prepared myself. Enter Rocco’s cookbook.

Rocco was a guest chef on the Biggest Loser. After that show he was encouraged and inspired a cookbook with real food and recipes that everyone could eat and still lose weight to write.

This book covers all of my favorite comfort foods, neige I do, again and again to eat fast food joints in order to take home and at local shopping centers and restaurants.

I am adding one new recipe a week to my menu. Here are a few of my favorites, and how many calories and grams of fat in each recipe reduced Rocco:

1 Chicken Alfredo (from whole wheat linguine) cut out 920 calories and 65 grams of fat.

2 Chicken Cordon Bleu cut a 1,000 calories and 75 grams of fat.

3 Filet Mignon with Roasted Cauliflower fourth béarnaise cut out 400 calories 33 g fat

Loaded Baked Potato Skins – cut out 450 calories and 33 grams of fat

These recipes use fresh ingredients, sometimes cooking spray (you could substitute olive or canola oil), and sometimes natural sweeteners like stevia, etc .

The taste is incredible. The portions may be small for some recipes, but I offer this suggestion. Turn off your TV and computer. Sit and eat at your dinner table, without distractions. Enjoy every bite. Not only will you enjoy your food more, you will actually taste and see if you are full much faster.

      Bon Appetit!

Every time I grab a “Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie by Rocco’s book at first I feel that tinge of guilt you feel when you eat foods that know you, you should not eat, then I remember that they do not sugar, no flour containing the main component of white beans and they are only 40something calories (sometimes even less, because I can get 30 cookies from one batch instead of 20, recommends the book) and about 1 gram of fat, I breathe now and then eat 2! You are sooo delicious!

could After trying many wonderful recipes in Rocco’s Now Eat This! I have come to understand that if this book 20 years ago consisted America physically in better shape. It is long overdue, but I am glad it is finally here.

Other than the triple choco chip cookies are some of my personal favorites:
lobster soup: huge lobster flavor and easier to make than the original
peach and blueberry cobbler: Its use is so smart Bisquick
Turkey Enchiladas: green salsa is so flavorful you do not notice the low-fat cheese < br /> Steak au Poivre: I never need to eat the 1300-calorie version always
Berry appears: not the most original idea, but best tasting yogurt I’ve ever had pop
Onion rings: pure magic, I can not believe how they are crispy and with a little Tabasco sauce, Mayo Smokey is mind blowing

There are a few dishes that I like less, but there is so much room for personal preference these your own w / o you can make too many calories. For example, I can not eat, Brownie, which no chocolate chips and walnuts in them, so I sprinkled some into the dough and they came from less than 100 calories and were really tasty!

Personally I would like Rocco to every court in America Makeover!
