Product Title:
Symbolic Logic
Description:
In the chapter on “Propositions of Existence” I have adopted a new “normal form” in which the class whose existence is affirmed or denied, as the _Predicate_ is considered instead of the _Subject_, the proposition into handle, a very subtle difficulty which beset the other form. Yes, this is the Lewis Carroll who wrote “Alice in Wonderland, & show these two works the same quirky humor. Here you see the mathematician Carroll playful at its best. Follow the guide never the title of first work mislead – the is never about modern symbolic logic, but at the manifestations of classical logic with symbols. It is amusing fraught with problems, played delight into all the mathematical puzzles. In the second work he turns into a logic game with graphics & colored marks, so you into solve hundreds of challenging & witty syllogisms. Great Spirit Stretching fun.

The book by Lewis Carroll is a wonderful source to learn the basics of logic in a fun and natural way. It can be seen as self-study guide to be used or as a handbook for educators teaching elements of logic to schoolchildren. It is very clear and consistent and gives the basic idea of propositions and conclusions. The theory is in an unusual game that makes it framed much more understandable. As always, Carroll’s examples are a little absurdic but that is exactly what makes them humorous, attractive and with. The book is also a great brainteaser for readers of all ages. Unfortunately, it is not as well known as Alice in Wonderland, but it has been translated into many languages. I spread the Russian translation logic in teaching to school children in St. Petersburg, Russia. Currently a PhD student in the States, I try to imagine my colleagues.

Math is fun, but the rhetoric of the most “learned” (probably an exaggeration) mathematics (and by extension, logic) is so incredibly dry that the forest is rarely seen is the bark on the trees. But inserted here Carroll, with tongue firmly in cheek, light the rhetoric (and by extension, how we think about mathematical problems) on his ear, and the result is an often incredibly funny approach to mathematical and logical problems with you and ultimately stays worms its way into your everyday. I will also say that, as a poor student in high school cruelty, this book allows me the ace SATs, and then ten years later, the Gres.

Some books you read, relax, learn something, and some of them. . . Well, some make you wonder and think and grow. This is one of those.
The problems here have been around for more than a century, and yet they are still as effective in the teaching of logic as the day they were written.
If you get to the final finish, this is not a bad place to start. If you just want to tease your mind only, this is a great source for hours of entertainment.

Probably it is not often taught, as it has been replaced by other methods, has still use because it teaches alternative methods and formats of the solution of problems of logic. Since this book was not least the language can be written a little confusing, but otherwise is a fast and a bit of fun.

Lewis Carroll’s timeless and content is fundamental and should be of interest to everyone with an interest in symbolic logic, or even simple logical problem solving.
However, I am not looking for KicKing on the published year, and with the clever cover to believe that the presentation would mislead the contemporary standards. It is ditto reproduction of fonts and pagination of the original to a contemporary reader would have a hard time keeping up. Just look at the Table of Contents before you buy.
